What Happens Below the Drain

Inside the trap and drain line, urine salts can harden into uric scale. As the opening narrows, flush water drains more slowly, pools in the bowl, and can eventually overflow.
Placed beneath a standard urinal screen, a Drain Ball is activated by each flush. Regular use helps break down and reduce ongoing buildup so the line stays clearer. Severely restricted drains should be professionally cleared before beginning a maintenance program.
